ICAEW Bitesize Business: October 2020

It was an incredible privilege to be invited to speak at the inaugural ICAEW Midlands Bitesize Business event.

As well as being a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist, I’m also a chartered accountant, so to be able to provide support and information for my fellow finance professionals was an exciting opportunity.

I confess I didn’t sleep well the night before as it was so important to me to do my very best!

The presentations were recorded, so I’m able to share with you the section where I was presenting.

What to expect

It includes a definition of loneliness, the feelings associated with loneliness (some of which may be surprising to you), the dimensions of connection and how they map to the workplace including as a leader, followed by 5 tactics that you might implement to improve connection for you and your team.

Also, Dr Sophie Dale-Black gave a reflection on the conversation she had with her team, which is so powerful.

A couple of thank-yous

Thank you to ICAEW and Dr Sophie Dale-Black.

I know there are lots of interesting events planned, so well worth a look.

In the discussion that followed, I committed to providing a resource to help those who are supporting their teams to manage the emotional load.  You can find it here

If you’d like to discuss further, including how I might be able to support you and / or your team, please do get in touch:
