Covid-19 Tier 4 Update

This afternoon, Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced an update to Covid-19 restrictions, which unfortunately means the Midlands, including Nottinghamshire and therefore West Bridgford, have now moved into Tier 4.

Unfortunately, this means that I have to pause Covid-secure in-person appointments.

Much as it saddens me to do this, UKCP and I understand and support the measures.

If you are a client already with an appointment booked in, I’ll be in touch tomorrow (31st December) to work out what you’d like to do.  This may be move to video or telephone, or pause until in-person can resume.

As soon as we return to Tier 3 (or better!) I shall resume Covid-secure in-person appointments, although at the moment there’s no indication of when that might be.

Why am I pausing?

The government guidelines do not give specific guidance for psychotherapy / counselling services. As a profession, although healthcare settings may remain open, we are more aligned with close contact services, so take most of our decisions based on changes to those rules.

As we are able to provide appointments remotely, then our judgment is that under Tier 4 restrictions we must close our doors to in-person services, regardless of Covid-secure measures.

Telephone and Video Appointments Available

The good news is that I can offer telephone and video appointments.
